DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Chaw Srei Vibol Temple

Chaw Srei Vibol Temple was built by king Suryavaraman 2nd in the same period as Angkor Wat. It represents the mountain Meru and was built on the foundation of natural mountains, surrounded by large ponds. This is also a great location for sunset views (we can possibly spend 1h or more for sunset depending on weather and requests).
Banteay Ampil Temple
Prasat Beng Mealea

Once at the Beng Mealea temple, guests will have 1 hour to explore this Angkorian period temple. Beng Mealea (ប្រាសាទបឹងមាលា “lotus pond”) is a temple from the Angkor Wat period and located 40 km east of the main Angkor temples by the ancient royal highway to Preah Khan Kompong Svay.

Beng Mealea was built as a Hindu temple, but some carvings depict Buddhist motifs. Its primary material is sandstone and the temple is largely unrestored with trees and thick brush thriving amidst its towers and courtyards while many of its stones lying in great heaps. For years it was difficult to reach, but a road recently built to the temple complex of Koh Ker passes Beng Mealea and more visitors are coming to the site, as it is 77 km from Siem Reap by road.

Guides & Routes

Kulen Adventures tour guides are trained professionals with accredited licenses and extensive knowledge of Cambodian history, culture and this tour highlights.

Tour guest are welcome to ask questions and we kindly ask to patiently listen to tour guide instructions.

The exact route might change depending on weather seasonality, road and traffic conditions, as well as tour progress through the day.

Detailed tour itinerary will be presented at the start of the trip.
Equipment & Bags
We advice our tour guests to bring to the tour:
- waterproof jacket and waterproof bag
- mosquito and bug repellents
- hat, sunglasses and sunscreen lotion
- towel and swimming suit (you will able to swim at the Kulen waterfall, changing rooms are available at the location)
First Aid & Casevac

Kulen Adventures tour guides have received First Aid training and have First Aid kits available in every tour.

In case of emergency, most of our tours will rarely be more than 20mins from some sort of motorized vehicle (car or motorbike).

Phone reception is generally good throughout our tours and guides can quickly request support in emergency situation.

We also request all tour guest to have travel insurance and send us proof of your travel insurance before the trip.

- Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity (ACCB)
- Angkor Park
No other tickets are required for this tour. If you already have these tickets (or do not require them), the ticket price will be deducted from our tour price.
We will ask all tour guests to send us a passport copy in advance.
