Angkor (C3)

Tonle Om Gate is the principal gate and was allowed to use only for hight class people when they wanted to visit the King. You can also see the bridge with sculptures of Demons and Gods on the opposite bridge sides.

Angkor Thom was the last and arguably most impressive capital city of the Khmer empire. The “Great City” covers over 9 square kilometers, and at the peak of the empire, it is believed there were living over 500 000 people, which makes it one of the biggest cities of the world at that time. Up to this day you can also see the foundations of the houses, ancient temples and royal King palace.

One of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in the Khmer Kingdom was built in the center of Angkor Tom and is known for the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces which used to be decorated in gold and silver. The temple dates back to the end of the 12^th century and stretching over 2 ha area.

Ta Nei Temple is a Buddhist temple uniquely located next to the gates which were controlling the complicated watering system that was crucial to distribute water across the whole Angkor capital city.

Buddhist temple built by Jayavarman VII^th dedicating it to his mother. The temple represents cemetery and was also used as the Royal University of Khmer Empire
